DeAndre Hopkins: “Are y’all gonna talk about the refs now?”

by | Feb 11, 2025 | NFL, Stuff About Sports

“You know, I saw a lot of things in the media about the refs, but obviously, what y’all gonna say now about the refs and us when there was a lot of touchy calls. Are y’all gonna report that? Are y’all gonna talk about the refs now?” — DeAndre Hopkins

Yeah, DeAndre, let’s talk about the refs. Let’s talk about how they didn’t help you this time. Let’s talk about how you had to win on your own—and didn’t. Imagine losing by three scores and trying to pin it on officiating. Did the refs make you drop that wide-open pass? That was all you, my guy. Bold words from someone who wouldn’t have even been in the Super Bowl without some conveniently timed whistles.

This is what happens when you actually have to beat the teams in front of you instead of relying on outside forces to save you. So take your dad’s mink coat, put it back in the closet, and try again next year.

Now, let me take my own accountability moment. I was talking real big about how the Eagles had no chance against the Chiefs, and I was loud wrong. You dribble and shoot in life—sometimes you make it, sometimes you miss. And I missed this one bad. I didn’t count on the Chiefs playing their worst playoff game ever, but that’s neither here nor there. The Eagles showed up, handled business, and put belt to ass.

So congrats to Nick Sirianni, Saquon Barkley, and the whole Philadelphia squad. Eagles fans, all those arrows you’re aiming at me today? I deserve them. Let ‘em fly.
